Frequently asked questiOns.
Amsterdam’s weather can not really be trusted, but luckily, we can be! Our tours will run, rain or shine. (besides if we let water ever stop us we’d have to give up our Dutch passports.)
We like to keep our tours intimate and have space for questions and sometimes even requests, as well as minimize our impact on a supercrowded city. We therefore limit our public tours to 10 people and private tours to 15.
If you prefer an even more intimate or customized experience, dont want to listen to other peoples questions or prefer to sit in an empty room in silence across from a very uncomfortable guide, a private tour might be a better option for you.
-
The standard times for all our tours are 2-2.5 hours, with a little (and for the beer tour a lot of) flexibility to allow for really fast or slow moving groups, and any adventures we might find along the way. For longer, shorter or any other timey-wimey configuration of tours, get in touch about a private tour!
-
Ah, the million dollar question! Now that you’ve read a million, €30 for adults and €27.5 for students and children doesn’t seem so bad now does it?
For private tours prices start at €240 for the standard tour for groups up to 8 people, with additional charges for every person after that up to 15. Larger groups or customized tours are available upon requestFor the beer tour the price is €55,- including drinks and a snack. Private tour price on request.

Totally fair question! please note that there is a different starting point for certain tours!!!
For the Stamppot, general history and Ghastly Grachten (ghost story tour):
We start at the Those Dam Boat Guys office address: Prinsenstraat 13H. Please make yourself known to the people working there as it is also the starting point for the boat tours.
For Happy Hour History: We meet at nieuwmarkt, on the Tilburgse Benkskes plein, which is the little square with the tiled muraled benches and parked bikes opposite the ‘Waag’. -
Why, just look for the best looking, most charismatic person on the square of course!…Unless John is working, he’s our diversity ugly hire. Alternately look for the person donning our logo on shirts or umbrellas.
-
Our guide will be on the square waiting for you 10 mins before the tour starts. The time listed for the tour is when we would like to start the tour, so please plan to be there well in time. . As there is no toilet at the startpoint (there is at the end) please plan for this in your arrival time.
-
When walking on the tours it is not allowed to have alcohol or 'smokables' (weed not tobacco). Of course on the Happy hour history tour we will have beers whilst inside the bars.
-
We don’t want to set an age restriction on tours, and are happy for all that are interested! That said, kids and 2,5 hours on history-heavy walking tours aren’t the most obvious of companions, so please take that into consideration. Bear in mind that talking about Amsterdam more-often-than-not leads to some fairly adult topics of conversation, but whereas that is par for the course with a Dutch upbringing, we’re aware it might not be part of yours, and it’s best that you’re aware. If you would like a tour that avoids such topics, booking a private tour is advisable.
For the Happy hour history tour the minimum age is 18 years.
